This guide is for creators who produce 4K (or higher) video content with Canon EOS cameras. The goal is to make it easy to check codecs and frame rates at a glance. I also included some handheld models that can be useful for recording events like lectures, live performances, and concerts.

Note: I also list RF‑mount cameras released since 2018 including models that cannot shoot 4K, and I include Canon’s professional XA and XF series video cameras as well.

When shooting in 4K 60p or 120p, choose memory cards carefully. V90 SD cards are expensive, so it’s safer to go with brands you trust. Personally, I often use Nextorage and SanDisk.
Models that can record internal 4K 4:2:2 10‑bit at 59.94p
Some cameras only allow YCbCr 4:2:2 10‑bit when using Canon Log or HDR PQ. If you want 10‑bit without Log, keep that limitation in mind.

If you shoot at 120p (119.88p) or 60p (59.94p), you’re probably aiming for slow motion. For heavy editing workflows, many creators choose Canon Log 3 or Canon Log 2.

Based on these specs, for video production, I think an EOS R mid-range mirrorless model (R6 Mark II and newer) or a Cinema EOS body makes the most sense.
Personally, I feel that having one camera that can shoot 120p, plus an EOS R50V as a sub camera, may be enough for many workflows.
I was also surprised by how many models can record RAW internally.
